Anatomy of a Mini Pin

This Squirrel Mini Pin brooch is laser cut from FSC MDF and hand painted using a combination of gouache paint and Little Greene Paint company emulsion paint.

The Squirrel Mini Pin measures 5.5 cm x 2 cm and is packed in our beautiful bespoke window boxes, these measure 7.1cm x 7.1cm x 1.2cm. Their clever design means that they fit perfectly into PIP postal boxes, making them an excellent choice for a letter box gift.

How we made it

Each Lily Faith friend starts with a pen and ink line drawing. Lily gets inspired by her loved ones’ favourite beasts or those she spots while strolling the Devon countryside with her trusty sidekick, Ned. The creatures come to life when we laser cut and engrave them from wood, hand painting their features and details

Next we carefully affix a brooch back with hot glue, once set, it’s ready, where it’s pinned is up to you.

Natural habitat

The perfect pin to grace your jacket, aprons, dunga’s or dress. Celebrate your hedgerow heroes or make a subtle pledge of allegiance to your cliff top champion, there are plenty of creatures to choose from. Hand crafted in nature, they are best suited for sunny days. With the water based paints we use, we cannot guarantee how they fair in wet weather.

We take care to tread as lightly as our animal friends. We use recyclable packaging, eco-friendly paint from Little Greene and minimal white (bleached) paper products. These can be spotted in shops and galleries throughout the UK and beyond, but notably collections are also stocked in National Trust shops too.
